Wallpaper Installation in Manhattan
We install and remove wallpaper in Manhattan apartments. Walls are prepared first, patterns are matched at the seams, and the room is left clean. Our in-house crew can smooth the wall after removal so the new paper sits flat.
Wallpaper types we install
Different papers behave differently on the wall, and we plan each one accordingly.
- Traditional printed and non-woven wallpaper
- Grasscloth and natural-fiber papers
- Peel-and-stick wallpaper
- Murals and panoramic scenes
Wall prep: removal, adhesive residue, skim coat and primer
Wallpaper shows every bump and ridge beneath it, so the wall comes first. We remove old paper, clear adhesive residue, repair damage, smooth the surface and prime it so the new paper bonds and seams stay flat.
On uneven plaster or walls damaged by earlier removal, a skim coat gives wallpaper the smooth base it needs. Our crew does that work, so the prep and the install are on one schedule.
Pattern matching and seam quality
A patterned wallpaper only looks right if the pattern lines up across every drop. We measure, plan where the pattern starts so the focal point sits where it should, and match the repeat at every seam. Around corners, windows, outlets and radiators we trim cleanly. Grasscloth and other natural papers need special seam planning because shade can vary between rolls.
Installation process and timeline
One room usually takes about a day, and patterned or grasscloth papers can take longer. Larger projects are scheduled room by room.
- Measure and confirm the paper, overage and repeat
- Prepare and prime the wall
- Hang the paper and match seams
- Trim, roll seams and clean up
- Final walk-through
Wallpaper removal and wall restoration
Old paper, especially layered or glued directly to plaster, can damage the wall if it is removed carelessly. We remove it, take off adhesive residue and repair or smooth the wall afterwards. If you plan to paint instead of re-papering, we can finish with interior painting. For a step-by-step view, read how to properly remove wallpaper and wallpaper glue removal.
Order and supply notes
If you are buying the paper yourself, order enough to allow for pattern repeat and trimming, and make sure all rolls come from the same dye lot. Send us the product details before you order and we will help you work out quantities.
